Learning fleet
Walk‑Check is learning to recognise aircraft parts. What helps it most is seeing many different aircraft from many people. In the Learning fleet programme an organisation allows the blurred footage from its walkarounds to be used to train the model.
Why variety
The model does not get better with more hours of footage of the same aircraft. It gets better by seeing many different aircraft: other types, other paint schemes, other light, other aprons and other people holding the phone. So we are not after more records from a few organisations, but records from as many different aircraft as possible.
What you give
- Consent for the organisation
The organisation’s administrator decides: they confirm it in the app with one tap. The decision applies to the organisation’s records and can be changed at any time in Organisation.
- Blurred footage, not the original
Training uses the blurred footage from walkarounds, the same footage that plays in the app. The original video is not used for training.
- Nothing extra
The walkaround is done just as before. Nothing extra is filmed and nothing is filled in.
What you get
A model that also learns from your aircraft and from the way you actually walk around them. Further benefits for programme participants are still being decided.
How the records are protected
- Blurring is live
Before a record is sealed, the server blurs a person whose face is visible in the frame. Someone who keeps their back turned the whole time, and the hand of the person filming, stay unblurred.
- The original stays locked away
The original is kept in closed storage with no public access, encrypted, so that the record is not lost if blurring fails. Only the blurred version leaves it: in the app, in the console, in the PDF and through the shared link.
- The seal does not change
Training the model does not change a sealed record. The seal, the hash chain and the timestamp stay as they were, and anyone can verify them independently of us.

Test operation
The programme runs within test operation. During it, part recognition runs hidden on the server: it claims nothing anywhere and only learns. The aim is to switch it on once it reaches full quality.
Checkpoint: that is when we look at where the model stands and say what comes next. It is a checkpoint, not a promise.
How to take part
- The app offers the Learning fleet to the organisation’s administrator once.
- The administrator enrols the organisation with one tap, or chooses Not now.
- The decision can be changed at any time in Organisation. After withdrawal we add none of the organisation’s records to training; what the model has already learnt cannot be taken back out of it.
To be plain about it. Part recognition claims nothing today and we do not promise when it will be ready. The sealed proof of the walkaround works now and does not depend on the programme: you do not have to take part to have it.
